Pop up stores at Whiteleys Launch

So this week when the pr team at village press invited me to the opening of pop up stores within the Whiteleys centre (shopping centre in Bayswater which also houses net-a-porter) it’s fair to say I was excited.  With Alice Dellals band (Thrush metal) confirmed to play a set, and a guest list of Sadie Frost, Kelly Osbourne and Jameela Jamil it seemed like it would be quite an evening.

Then I woke up ill on Thursday (which sucked) so I requested to be kept in the loop via press images. I was tres jealous when I saw the turn out, although slightly bemused by Thrush metals appearance (Alice and co showed up in face masks and suits). Mmm.

Below I have attached some of my favourite shots of the evening for all of you who couldn't make it, like me.

Next time i'll be there, illness or no illness. Final note of the night, I love  Kellys new silver fox look - amazing. I'm feeling inspired...

Inspired

With thanks to Face Hunter and the Satorialist. I need to get my arse into doing some street style very soon.

Fitter Happier

This morning I woke up and switched on the box.

You see I am sick today, which sucks.  The small plus point is that I at least get to catch up on idle television shows. So I watched BBC news for a bit when I awoke, which told me why I should consider the new Atkins diet. Urgh.

Once I’d had enough of some LA fitness bitch telling me why I shouldn’t eat apples (I mean really) I turned on GMTV with Lorraine Kelly. On GMTV this morning there was a lady telling Lorraine Kelly why wearing flats and jeans at the workplace was unacceptable.  I wear pumps and jeans to work ALOT. So she made me feel great about my chosen form of attire.  Double URGH.

I then switched over onto MTV and on came Radioheads Fitter Happier Video. Oh the irony, Fitter Happier never felt so true.

*"A pig in a cage on Antibiotics" - today thats me.

As a young and impressionable lady myself I think its high time we cut the  condoning.   My advice would be to challenge the stepford generation.  Wear what YOU want to wear, eat what YOU want to eat, and fuck fitting in. Also behave completely inappropriately.

Finally: A message to the LA fitness bitch on the BBC this morning, I had an apple this morning AND a cinnamon bagel smothered in peanut butter. HA.

Drink dancing costs street credibility

It was a friends birthday last Saturday so we all headed for the bright lights of east london for a drink and a boogie. After one too many a tequila cocktails I was rather elated.

Supporting my matra to life, Emma took us out to eat drink and be silly. After muchos tapas in Red and Green, we headed to Casa Bleu in Brick Lane for strawberry mojitos and a dance, where a friend found me alone, on the dancefloor doing the robot at 3am. This was the only image I managed to recover of the whole evening. Oh dear.

Sports relief

Is it just me of does it feel like 2010's fashion trends are breaking all the traditional rules? First clashing denim (which was crazy enough), but now we have tracksuit bottom chic, a form of trackie b's that you can wear out on a saturday night.

Although I haven’t invested in a on trend pair yet, I’m loving the fact that track suit bottoms are one again becoming a acceptable form of attire. My grey tracksuit bottoms have long been one of my favourite items of clothing, and the fact you can now wear them out and about just makes me love it even more.

I love. I wil soon be channeling flashdance when I finally get a pair. I plan on teaming mine with my ruffled suede heels and a long sleeve black top, yesss.

Trackie B's in the office. I've waited a long time for this day.

Double denim

Ok I hated it. I rediculed it but, double denim has done a total 360 for me, and now I can't get enough of it.

Below are some images of the runway which I was rather dubious of originally.

and here I have attached the reality of the way some  fashion mortals have adopted this trend.

(I LOVE the fur gilet mismatch concoction displayed above)

Somehow it works. For me the fact that it was once my pet fashion CARDINAL sin just makes me love it more. It looks like this trend is here to stay for the summer. 2010 is set to be the year of the clash, mitch matchy fashionistas be afraid.

Telephone

So its been a while. But I rushed home this afternoon feeling completely inspired after seeing beyonce and Gaga’s video to their new song Telephone. I LOVE it.

The outfits, the dance moves and the fact Gaga included a clip of someone exclaiming “I told you she doesn’t have a dick” shows she has a sense of humour, and talent.

I want beyonces fringe, Gagas leather jacket, and I just can’t stop watching it.
